Random Catching up

Today was Elly's last day of 5th grade! Where has time gone? I have been very poor at keeping this blog updated, but this year has really been full. Elly had a great year with the best teacher, Audrey "graduated" from preschool and has lost 3 teeth, we have a house that is a constant work in progress, Noah has gotten very independent, and Carter is almost finished with his first year in a new district!

We celebrated Ellys 11th birthday on the 20th. What a precious girl she is. She has adapted so well here and has made some great friends and to my dismay, can now wear my shoes!

Audrey and her gal pals at her preschool party-she loved preschool and Noah cannot wait to start in the fall! Teacher Lisa was amazing!
And just some random pics from the past few months.

This is Audrey (a few months ago) with her little buddy Jake. She is going to miss him when he goes to the stockshow next week:(

When my parents were here in March they went a little crazy helping us pull out all of the over grown shrubs surrounding our house. I think my dad was just looking for reasons to use his chainsaw!

And the BOSS lady was patiently waiting as my dad tied bushes to the truck for her to tear out...I am pretty sure she was enjoying herself!

Gramps with the little ones
Thanks mom and dad for all the help!

Noah has to be apart of everything, if Carter is doing any sort of work inside or out he runs to get his own "tools"

Carter burning all the junk we pulled out from around the house. I think he might have enjoyed this a little to much!

They've got wick! (Secret Garden)

I have so many pictures to put on here from the last month or two but they will have to wait another day or so. We have had many family visitors the last month and a half and it while it has been alot of fun, I have somewhat neglected the whole blog thing! The last several days have been BEAUTIFUL and we have practically lived outside. The house we bought has about 16 fruit trees that we weren't sure were even alive anymore. Our plan had been to pull a good chunk of them out...that is until they all started blooming! I think they are all alive but one and they are so pretty right now! We aren't sure what they all are yet...lots of apples, thinking there is a pear or two, apricots, two or three cherry trees, it is so exciting and I have SO MUCH to learn so I don't kill them all:)

Three!

Noah is three today! It truly amazes me how VERY different he is from the girls. He had the whole birthday thing figured out this year and knew EXACTLY what he wanted! He has been talking about HIS day ever since he had to watch Audrey open her presents. This morning he asked me to sing him the birthday song...which I had to do multiple times throughout the day. He wanted a dump truck cake and all week he has been talking about having FROSTED FLAKES for his birthday dinner-huh?! I seriously do not know where this one came from. We haven't had TV in over 2 months so he hasn't been watching commercials and I am not sure if I have ever even purchased them before! I was going to cook him something fun instead but finally decided that if the kid wants Frosted Flakes for dinner on his birthday, why not? SO Frosted Flakes it was!

Growing up

My little girl turned 5 last Thursday (I know, I am a super blog slacker) and it has been surprisingly hard for me to adjust to! She all of the sudden seems bigger, taller, more mature, and to top it off...she lost her first tooth yesterday! She was laying in my bed and after I BARELY touched it, it fell out in my hand. She giggled, I giggled, and then I was doing everything I could not to cry...WHAT?! Yes, water kept coming out of my eyes for absolutely no reason at all! Not sure what all the emotion was all about (and NO I AM NOT pregnant) but now I have a five year old with a missing tooth.

We have all been sick for the past two weeks so we opted out of doing a big party this year...just a family one...and a preschool one...but she had a great day! For some reason she had a facination with rainbows this year so when I asked her if she wanted chocolate or vanilla, etc. for the inside of her cake- she said Rainbow. SO we made the INSIDE of the cake rainbow- the idea totally not my own, I found it online, but I LOVE how vibrant it turned out!

slacker bob

I have been having the worst time keeping this blog updated. And it isn't for lack of trying. Our Internet service has been a bit shaky the past few weeks, they have had to come out and reattach our antenna three times because of the wind!

Audrey and Elly made cars for the Awana Grand Prix. It was fun and Audrey's car took 2nd place in her division! She was so proud! Her friend Jenna came in first place and they could not quit showing everyone their trophys!

And here is my little ballerina posing before class

I have absolutley nothing of importance to say right now, just feeling the need to post SOMETHING!

A few before and afters!

We are finally moved in and slowly unpacking. It has been such a long process and I am so glad to finally be settling in!
Our two major projects were the bathroom and the kitchen. Our house was built in the 60's and everything was just a little worn out! Gotta love the green tub, toilet and sink!

Here are the bathroom befores:

And now....we still need to hang the mirror and put up the shower curtain but it is seriously my favorite room in the house:)

Kitchen befores:

And now...

Next is to tackle the outside, everything is so overgrown...but that will have to wait for spring, it is SO cold here right now!

December

Life has been overwhelmingly busy for us this past month. Almost every spare minute has been spent working on our house...that we still are not in. Hopefully we can get moved in the next few days before Carter has to go back to work. Every paintable surface has been repainted and it is feeling much better. Seriously, every wall (and ceiling) was either mint green or light yellow. I am so glad that is gone!

I have been promising pictures for the family for weeks so this is just going to be one big catch up post and I hope to be back to keeping this up to date after the move.

Elly and Audrey had their winter recital for dance. I am realizing I should have bought a camera with a better zoom because I just could not get close enough- so no good pictures:( Oh Well!

Here is my little butterfly fairy after the show!

The girls back stage after the recital

Enjoying the gobs of snow!

Christmas Eve P.J.'s

And here is Audrey in the dress I made Elly years ago...don't look to close...I think this is the only thing I have ever sewn and will EVER sew!

Anyway, I am totally looking forward to getting settled and into a routine again and I can't wait to show some pictures of our projects...more on that next week! (I will admit that I am becoming a HUGE fan of Overstock.com!! )

Happy 2009!

November Wrap!

Where did November go? We FINALLY closed on our house and were able to get keys about 2 weeks ago...and have been overwhelmed ever since! We bought a FIXER and are scrambling to get it ready to move into before Christmas. I will post some before and after pictures as we get things done, but for now here are just a few of the LOVELY lamps that are in the house! Ebay here they come!

And here are the kids meeting our neighbors...they are already best of friends!
This is looking out the living room window into the backyard...needs some TLC but I love it!

Audrey's preschool had a booth at the Festival of Trees selling these little Christmas tree kits. The kids made them and they didn't last long...actually I am not even sure they were completed:)

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
